Romeo & Juliet REDUX opens at The Gladstone on Thursday, October 6th. Written by William Shakespeare, it is adapted and directed by David Whiteley and features an all-Ottawa cast of just four actors: Robin Hodge, Mekdes Teshome, David daCosta and Lawrence Evenchick.

"When one of the most staged plays in theatre history - Romeo and Juliet - is reimagined and reduced to its emotional core, audiences experience the intensity and raw emotions of the lovers like they've never seen it before" says David Whiteley. "To do this, we've distilled the play to just four actors and 80 minutes. Irreverent? You bet. Shakespeare will roll over in his grave."

The production also features live performances by popular Ottawa musician Scottie Irving (The PepTides) who creates the vivid soundscape. Laura Wheeler contributes an exciting and ever shifting lighting design to complete this feast for the senses.

Romeo and Juliet REDUX runs from October 6-15 (preview October 5).

Tuesday to Saturday at 7:30pm, Saturday & Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.. The play runs approximately 80 minutes.
