Valencia Music Department Announces Three Free Holiday Concerts

At Valencia College, we put the "happy" back in the holidays with a lineup of free holiday concerts.

All concerts will be held on Valencia College's East Campus, located at 701 N. Econlockhatchee Trail, Orlando.

Music Department Holiday Show

Enjoy classics and fresh new holiday favorites as the Valencia Singers, Contemporary Ensemble, Symphonic Band and String Ensemble combine their efforts for a grand holiday concert on Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Valencia's Performing Arts Center.

Students will perform holiday favorites, including "We Three Kings", "Still, Still, Still", and more.

The Performing Arts Center is located on Valencia's East Campus, 701 N. Econlockhatchee Trail, Orlando. Admission is free and open to the public.

Jazz Concert

Students and faculty will present a night of jazz on Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Valencia College's East Campus.

The energetic Big Band sounds of Benny Goodman, Jimmy Giuffre, Neal Hefti and Stan Kenton will light up the Performing Arts Center stage as the Valencia Jazz Band brings these lively gems to our campus. Several student soloists will be featured throughout the evening.

Admission is free and the public is invited.

Fall Opera Theatre Workshop

Valencia College will present the music department's Opera Theatre Workshop on Dec. 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theater on East Campus.

This year's concert features music from Engelbert Humperdink's "Hansel and Gretel" opera, as well as extended selections from "Hamilton" and "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee."

There will be an intermission between the first and second acts.

The Opera Theatre Workshop concert is free and open to the public..
