VIDEO: Ellen Surprises High School Choir With Fully Funded Trip To Carnegie Hall!
By: Nicole Ciravolo
After finding out that their band and choir were one of only three high schools across the nation that were invited to perform at the famed Carnegie Hall, Orlando's Jones High School had concerns about funding for the trip. Despite the school's outstanding statistics, such as the 95% graduation and college enrollment rate that the choir director Jamaal mentions, the school's consistent fundraising events (via car washes and vocal performances) were struggling to hit the mark of $200,000 to send their kids to New York.
Along with her friends at Walmart, Ellen surprised the high school and helped hit the students' financial goal and reach their dream of going to New York City.
