Sunday, August 1 at 7:30pm will be headlined by The Mark Hodgson & Chris Lee Blues Band and their unique blending sound of blues with side trips into roots-rock and soul. Both Mark and Chris have honed their "blues bones" and come of age as bluesmen through decades of touring experience in the world of the soul-blues sound. This concert will hit your ears hard with a guitar-driven, harp-crazed style of soulful blues music at its finest...don't miss it!

Chris Lee arrived in the US in June from England to visit his old friend Tony Stevens of Foghat and Savoy Brown fame. He was here to explore the blues scene in America.

Chris has a colorful past in blues and he was directed to Mark Hodgson who was playing in the New Smyrna Beach area. Mark has been a well known "bluesman" for many years and is renowned for his vocals, harp and guitar. When Chris walked in with his 1964 Stratocaster on his back and asked Mark if he could sit in for a song...Mark agreed.

That first song lasted 3 hours...NON-STOP! The audience sat stunned by the blend of blues, root-rock and soul music. Chris and Mark had never met but it seemed as though they had been playing together for years and were lifelong friends. This needed to be recorded and recorded live!

The Athens Theatre in DeLand is filling this live recording need on August 1 at 7:30pm. Chris returns to Europe in 2 weeks and this concert may be one of the last opportunities to see this great duo together. No one should miss this opportunity to hear, see and feel the magic.
