Mad Cow Theatre has announced its upcoming run of John W. Lowell's The Letters in The Zehngebot - Stonerock Theatre, from tonight August 22 - September 21, 2014.

In The Letters, a Ministry Director calls his employee Anna intohis office for a meeting, but it is 1931 in the Soviet Union and things are not what they seem. Is Anna being offered a promotion? Is the Director making a sexual advance? An informal interview quickly turns into a game of cat and mouse in which the roles of hunter and hunted shift without warning, and being the last to flinch may mean the difference between life and death. Who will claim the upper hand: those who suppress the truth, or those who will risk everything to liberate it? The Director seems to have a hidden agenda - or is it Anna who has an agenda of her own. The Letters, starring Brian Brightman and Jennifer Christa Palmer is a suspensful cat and mouse game that grows more menacing as the seconds tick away. Although The Letters takes place in the Soviet Union, it is not about the Soviet Union. It is about what happened this morning and what may happen tomorrow.

The cast of The Letters features Brian Brightman (Dancing at Lughnasa, The Understudy) as the director and Jennifer Christa Palmer (Private Lives, The Heiress) as Anna. Blake Braswell makes his Mad Cow Theatre directorial debut. The design team inlcudes: Lighting Design by Erin Miner (The Mountaintop, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Table Manners), Property Master, Frank Siano (Hair, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Mountaintop, The Light in the Piazza), Costume Design by Monica Titus (debut), and Set Design by Lisa Buck (Road to Meccca, Mrs. Warren's Profession).
