Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF continues registration for youth and teen classes during Winter 2014 (January 4 - February 8). The six-week sessions meet on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and are available for students, ages 4 to 18, for a fee of $160. Space can be reserved by calling the Box Office at (407) 447-1700, online at www.orlandoshakes.org, or in person at the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center, 812 East Rollins Street in Orlando's historic Loch Haven Park.

Orlando Shakes offers classes for every age and level of experience. Younger children bring their favorite sing-alongs to life on stage in Story In Song. Elementary campers get on their feet to perform action scenes from cartoons and films in Pirate Girl Meets Robin Hood. Middle school students practice basic stage combat in Shakespeare Smackdown, and Scene Study focuses on script analysis and characterization to help older teens conquer their auditioning fears.

"If your child loves music, adventure, and performing, then look no further!" said Director of Education Anne Hering. "Adult actors should check out our affordable one-on-one training for audition prep. There's something for everyone!"

Spring 2014 classes are also available and currently open for registration. All Orlando Shakes youth and teen classes include weekly homework sheets to help parents track their students' progress, with the culmination of a final workshop presentation in front of family and friends. For detailed class descriptions, schedules, and frequently asked questions visit www.orlandoshakes.org/education. Call the Education Department at (407) 447-1700 ext. 254 for further information about youth and teen classes and adult training.

Orlando Shakespeare Theater is supported by United Arts of Central Florida, host of power2give.org/centralflorida, and the collaborative Campaign for the Arts. Orlando Shakespeare Theater is also sponsored in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture.
