Broadway's Ashley Brown Coming to The REP, 6/27

Orlando Repertory Theatre (The REP) has announced a one-night-only concert starring Ashley Brown, Broadway's original Mary Poppins! The concert is held at Orlando Repertory Theatre on June 27 at 7:00pm. Ms. Brown will also spend time earlier in the week working with the cast of the Youth Academy production of Mary Poppins, playing July 17 - August 2, 2015.

Ms. Brown originated the title role in Mary Poppins on Broadway, for which she received Outer Critics, Drama League, and Drama Desk nominations for Best Actress. She also starred on Broadway as Belle in Disney's Beauty and The Beast, as well as in the national tour of Disney's On The Record. She recently starred as Laurey in the Chicago Lyric Opera's production of Oklahoma! Ms. Brown appeared in her own PBS special entitled Ashley Brown: Call Me Irresponsible, which received a PBS Telly Award.

Ms. Brown made her solo concert debut at The Kennedy Center and has performed with virtually all of the top orchestras in North America, including the Boston Pops, the New York Philharmonic, The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, The Pittsburg Symphony, the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, Philadelphia Orchestra, and many more. She performed with the BBC orchestra opposite Josh Groban. Ms. Brown can also be heard on the cast albums for Mary Poppins and Disney's On The Record, as well as her solo album, Speak Low. Ms. Brown is a graduate of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
