The Breakthrough Theatre of Winter Park presents an evening of short plays under the title of "Murder at the Breakthrough" from October 20-30, 2017.

Murder at the Breakthrough features 4 short plays:

"It's You!" by Ian McWethy
The Brillmore Strangler is on the loose--and as a slasher-movie junkie, Lois couldn't be more excited. Her friends are less thrilled, especially when they hear she's tracked the killer to the very room they're in. As the bodies pile up, accusing the right person proves harder than it looks in this loving send-up of slasher-movie mayhem.

"Any Body For Tea?" by C.B. Gilford
Detective Dennis O'Finn, investigating the death of an elderly lady, discovers that he is the motive for murder. Six sweet but slightly balmy ladies are all in love with their bachelor neighbor, the handsome, forty-ish, O'Finn. To lure him to visit, they stage a homicide. But to keep him around, they must do it again!

"Chairs" by Scott Mullen
Ten kids wake in a room, with no idea of how they got there. They soon realize they are trapped inside, unwilling participants in a game of musical chairs in which the losers are supernaturally pulled through a door to their doom. As tensions rise and their numbers dwindle, can the survivors avoid being picked off one by one.

"Country Gothic" by Tim Kelly
The people of a small, remote country village are gathered for a simple country wedding. The young bride is radiant, and the older people are pleased because she has brought a young man from town to join their community. As time for the ceremony approaches, the conversation of the guests becomes ominous. Panic seizes the young man as he faces all the strangers. He realizes, in a moment of horror, just why the girl has led him to this isolated community. An unusual and gripping piece, and with a stunning, terrifying climax!
