Bluewater Creative Group Presents Backstage Pass Boomer Bash & Senior Expo November 8
Backstage Pass Boomer Bash & Senior Expo will feature a day of Broadway-themed, free fun with a private, up-close look at one of the region's most esteemed venues, the Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts. The event runs 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8. Admission, parking and shuttle are free. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. for the Veterans Salute performance at 9 a.m.
The day kicks off with a pre-Veterans Day tribute featuring patriotic music, color guard and huge flag display, Some Gave All's 28-panel Moving Tribute and special active and veteran military guest speakers: Maj. Trish Hayden, USAFR NC of the 920th Rescue Wing and USAF RET Lt. Gen. Bill Welser of Honor Flight.
Walk in the footsteps of the stars with a Backstage Pass of the King Center's main stage. Dueling Pianos will feature talented pianists performing a 10-minute show on grand pianos every hour. Unique and fresh attractions will feature an artists' "Paint Around," with a number of talented painters producing their art in the open to be auctioned for charity during the day. A comedy improv class will feature the many faces and voices of performing favorite Mario Busacca.
One of the most popular attractions at the event Nov. 8 will be a presentation by Senior Life travel writer John Trieste. He will showcase the best day-trip destinations in Central Florida with the biggest bang for the buck. In addition to entertaining, the event will inform. Workshops include: Introduction to Improv, All about the iPad, Travel Tips and The Best Ways to Crime Proof your Home with Sheriff Wayne Ivey.
Gourmet cooks from active lifestyle communities will offer tastes of the good life. Full luncheon will be available for purchase hot off the grill starting at 11:30 a.m. along with a free dessert bar at 2:30 p.m. The event is provided free courtesy of generous sponsorship by USAA, VITAS Innovative Hospice Care, Sonata at Melbourne and Senior Life newspaper.
