In every show, there is a force behind the scenes that is never acknowledged--and I don't mean techies. Some of us are lucky enough to have supportive moms, and it makes a world of difference. It's a thankless job, and sometimes even disrespected. I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

To all of the moms who help their kids prepare auditions.

To all of the moms who help their children pick out audition outfits.

To all of the moms who console their child after getting told "no" for the millionth time.

To all of the moms who drive their kids back and forth from rehearsal every day.

To all of the moms who bring their kids food on dinner break.

To all of the moms who quiz their kids on lines.

To all of the moms who pay for voice lessons.

To all of the moms who take their kids to dance class.

To all of the moms who usher and run concessions.

To all of the moms who take pictures of shows.

To all of the moms who attend every single performance (whether they're the star of the show or third tree from the left).

To all of the moms who defy the pushy "stage mom" stereotype.

Thank you.

You support us, no matter what we choose to do. You stay by our side, through the good days and the really, really bad ones (aka tech week). You are the reason that we are able to shine on and offstage. I am lucky enough to have one of those supportive moms, and without her, I couldn't do any of it. None of us could.

Happy Mother's Day to these amazing unseen crew members!
