Tulsa Opera brings a powerful tale of love and sacrifice to the stage with a company premiere of Bellini's bel canto masterpiece, Norma. The production is being created exclusively for the Tulsa Opera stage by Stanley M. Garner, a popular American stage director and an Oklahoma native.
The production stars distinguished American soprano Brenda Harris in the title role and tenor Frank Porretta as Pollione.About the opera:The moon hangs low in the ancient night sky. The air is filled with secrets. Norma, a powerful Druid priestess, has had a secret affair - and two children - with the centurion of the occupying Roman army.
