Carpenter Square Theatre presents RIPCORD, a comedy by David Lindsay-Abaire, September 8-30, 2017.

Hilarity trumps sensibility in this new comedy where The Odd Couple meets The Golden Girls! When two polar opposite ladies wind up in the same living quarters, get ready to watch 'em squirm, fight, and practically kill each other. You see, a sunny room with a view is prime real estate in the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility, so when the crabby Abby is forced to share her quarters with new-arrival Marilyn, she must get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the seniors quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-upmanship that reveals not just their tenacity, but deeper truths that each would like to stay hidden.

CST has produced many works by this playwright. Though he won numerous accolades for Good People and the Pulitzer for Rabbit Hole, Lindsay-Abaire returns to his earlier style that's more overtly comic, outrageous, whimsical, and a little vicious. CST audiences may remember the comic turns of Fuddy Meers, Kimberly Akimbo, and Wonder of the World.
