Experience a heartwarming celebration of culture, honor and fighting spirit as Kids Alive! brings Mulan, Jr. to the newly-renovated Auditorium at the Douglass stage Friday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

"Mulan, Jr. reflects a journey each of us make as we consider our place and our purpose in society," Kids Alive! Founder and Executive Director Shawna Linck said. "With every production, our creative team strengthens our realization that there are truly so many incredible opportunities for our kids to solidify life skills."

Directed and choreographed by Linck, Mulan, Jr. explores six Chinese virtues: honor, destiny, loyalty, love, strength and pathway/change, as well as an understanding of the forces of Yin/Yang and how a necessary mix of masculine and feminine is important to our well-being and ability to contribute to our society.

Founded in 2015 by Linck, KidsAlive! has established itself as an award-winning company with year-round programming for kids of all abilities. KidsAlive! summers are filled with music, theatre and dance instruction from some of Oklahoma City's best art educators. During the fall semester the cast travels out into the community to share the power of music theatre with children facing a myriad of challenges from cancer to homelessness. After local performances, the cast travels to the world's largest music theater celebration, the Junior Theater Festival in Sacramento.

Tickets for the Mulan, Jr. performance are $12 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. For more information on the KidsAlive! production of Mulan, Jr., or to reserve tickets, call (405) 637-8528 or visit the theatre's website at www.kidsaliveokc.org.
