Venus in Fur
A play from David Ives
This provocative, darkly comic play blurs the line between desire and domination, reality and role-play. When a seemingly unprepared actress arrives late to an audition, what begins as a frustrating casting session between actor and playwright quickly transforms into a dangerous and electrifying battle of wills. As power shifts and identities unravel, Venus in Fur challenges assumptions about gender, control, and storytelling itself.
This production stars Miller Kiesz as the mercurial and fearless Vanda, opposite Seanan Ellis as Thomas, the playwright-director whose authority is steadily undone. Directed by Hailey Vest, the production leans into the play’s sharp wit, psychological tension, and erotic charge, delivering an intimate and unsettling theatrical experience.
Venus in Fur is presented at Producers Club Theaters in Manhattan, New York in the Crown Theatre. Performances begin promptly at 7:00 PM; late entry will not be permitted.
