Three towering French thinkers—Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, and Albert Camus—spar over love, friendship, betrayal, and ideology under the shadow of Nazioccupied Paris. Existentialism collides with farce as Sartre spirals into his deepest personal crisis, and Simone attempts to rescue him in the most deliriously ill-advised way imaginable.
