New Ambassadors Theatre Company Stages Festival
FEARfest 2022
New York, NY – In FEARfest, New Ambassadors Theatre Company’s mission of producing inspiring new works gets a chilling twist: a frightening collection of short plays. This year's lineup features sci-fi, horror, and laugh out loud dark comedy. This playwright-forward company facilitates a radically inclusive, intersectional, and safe environment in which both the inexperienced writer and seasoned playwright finds encouragement, constructive criticism, and camaraderie throughout the development process (from conception to production) of an original work.
FEARfest, New Ambassadors Theatre Company’s annual short play festival features the best in horror and sci-fi short plays from the hilarious (Little Sally has had enough of Santa’s shenanigans), to the urgent (a ‘routine’ traffic stop can be deathly terrifying). FEARfest explores what we’re truly afraid of.
A blind date goes horribly wrong, or horribly right, depending who you ask. A knife gets a mind of its own. Santa Claus meets his match–and she’s five. A husband and wife finally confront the past. Two actors in a traffic stop reenactment get a firsthand taste of the real horror. A futuristic activist brings humanity to utopia. What are friends for if not to bite your neck to get you out of gendered norms?
