Dare2Draw Studios Launches "Creator CODE Live" Initiative and GoFundMe to Nurture Next Generation of Cartoonists in Brooklyn
New York, NY – Dare2Draw Studios, a Brooklyn-based comic book mentoring studio, today announced the launch of its ambitious new initiative, Creator CODE Live, aimed at discovering and developing emerging cartoonist talent. To fund this project and its new artist residency in Gowanus, the studio has also launched a GoFundMe campaign, with a special launch planned to coincide with Will Eisner Week 2026.
Creator CODE Live represents a significant expansion of Dare2Draw's mission to support human creators. The program will establish a physical hub in the heart of Gowanus, providing selected artists with mentorship, workspace, and direct pathways to professional publication. The initiative is designed to be a launchpad for diverse new voices in the comics industry.
“We believe in the irreplaceable power of human storytelling,” said Charles Sincero, Founder of Dare2Draw Studios. “Creator CODE Live is our response to an industry that's rapidly changing. We're building a community space in Brooklyn where talent isn't just discovered, but actively cultivated—from the first sketch to a published comic. Our goal for the Will Eisner Week 2026 launch is to honor the spirit of innovation Eisner represented by igniting the careers of the next generation.”
The GoFundMe campaign, which is currently 63% of the way to its initial goal with just $440 left to raise, will directly support the Gowanus residency program. Funds raised will go toward:
Securing and equipping the residency space in Gowanus.
Providing stipends and materials for resident artists.
Developing the Creator CODE Live curriculum and workshop series.
Organizing community events and portfolio reviews.
The timing of the launch for Will Eisner Week 2026 is a deliberate tribute to the legendary cartoonist and graphic novel pioneer, whose work and dedication to the art form continue to inspire creators worldwide.
Dare2Draw Studios invites the community, comics fans, and industry supporters to contribute to the campaign and help build a sustainable future for comic art. For more information, to donate, or to apply for the residency (once details are announced), please visit the GoFundMe page or follow Dare2Draw Studios on social media.
