After groundbreaking and critically acclaimed 2011 productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream & Romeo & Juliet What Dreams May Co. begins its 2012 season with a stripped, modern production of William Shakespeare's Othello. The story may be familiar, but you've never seen it like this before.

Director Shayna Lawson's backdrop of a burned down, drugged up dystopia mixes with What Dreams May Co.'s physical aesthetic to put this classic text under the emotional microscope. The production features rising Off-Broadway actor Terrell Green as tyrannical Othello and actor/musicIan Ryan McCurdy as bisexual, psychopathic Iago, with Kelsey Moore as Desdemona, Nicole Schalmo as Emilia, and Jonathan Emerson as Roderigo.

Performances are June 15 - 17 (Fri @ 8, Sat @ 3 & 8, Sun @ 3 & 8) at the 133rd Street Arts Center (308 W 133rd St) in Harlem (ABCD to 125 St). Tickets are $15 at the door (cash/credit).

The production is rated PG-13 due to adult themes.
