Urban Stages Presents JESSIE AND THE CASE OF THE MISSING CANDY 10/23

By:

Urban Stages Outreach Department (Frances Hill, Founding Artistic Director) is set to offer a free* family event to celebrate Halloween. Just in time for Halloween, Sunday October 23 & 30 at 2:30PM, Urban Stages will present the very fun and funny family show, Jessie and the Case of the Missing Candy, written by Laura Kosin Shortt, directed by Rachel Sullivan and will star Liz Parker (Oct 23) and Kristen Benjamin (Oct 30). Jessie and the Case of the Missing Candy, is perfect for kids ages 4-10 and will be performed at Urban Stages located at 259 West 30 Street, the event is FREE (*but donations are accepted), the show begins at 2:30PM and runs 45 minutes.

Jessie's Halloween is almost ruined when she comes down with a cold and cannot trick or treat in her detective costume. However, Jessie soon learns that everyone might be in danger of missing Halloween because all of the candy has suddenly disappeared. With the help of the good witch Gladys, Jessie and her cat Clever, travel to the Land of Halloween to solve the case of the missing candy. Along the way she meets a scarecrow who is a scared of everything, a vampire kid who thinks he is a superhero, a mummy who hates to hear people cry, and a goblin who loves candy. With the help of these characters, Jessie is able to use her cunning detective skills to find the candy and rescue Halloween. This is a one person show that utilizes puppets, song, dance, and audience participation to share Jessie's story. Jessie the Case of the Missing Candy is currently touring in New York Public Libraries and we are excited to bring Jessie onto the Urban Stages main stage.
