Since 1984 Jawole Willa Jo Zollar's Urban Bush Women (UBW) has been bold about telling the untold stories of disenfranchised people and challenging the rules of the dance world.
Join us for a special celebration that will spotlight their work about resistance and power including UBW's acclaimed solo Give Your Hands to Struggle which honors the struggle for civil and human rights, the powerful and rarely seen Women's Resistance from Scales of Memory, and fan favorite Walking with Pearl... Southern Diaries in honor of choreographer Pearl Primus. Special guests each night will include Somi, Carl Hancock Rux and more.
