Tin Lily Productions Presents New Adaptation of WOYZECK or THE ENDLESS CYCLE, Now thru 11/18

Tin Lily Productions, a Brooklyn based company dedicated to the production of socially relevant theatre, is producing 'Woyzeck' or 'The Endless Cycle,' a new adaptation and composition by William Lewis and Charlie Biscotto based on the original text by Georg Buchner. Performances will be held at The Secret Theatre in Long Island City and are scheduled to run from tonight, November 7th through November 18th, Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8 PM, with Matinee performances Saturdays at 3pm and Sundays at 5 PM.

The Secret Theatre is located at 4402 23rd Street, a short walk from Court Square or Queensboro Plaza between 44th Road and 44th Avenue. 7, E, M & G trains to Courthouse/23rd St. N, W & R trains to Queensboro Plaza. The production will include extensive video projection and an original score.

The new adaptation will be directed by William Lewis and will feature actors Tim Cusack in the title role, and Annie Harper Branson of Tin Lily Productions. Additional performances by Tom Abrams, Laura Aristovulos, Jeff Drushal, Daigoro Hirahata, Jared Miller, Jonathan Harper Schlieman, Jillian Stevens, and Benjamin Watson. The production will also feature video design by Anthony Nero and Daigoro Hirahata and original music by Jason Bell. Designers include Candace Lawrence and William Lewis. Dramaturgy by Giselle Garcia.

Buchner's timeless play explores the brutal breakdown of one man, the soldier Franz Christian Woyzeck, at the hands of those around him. As they gradually wall him up over the course of the performance, he struggles to free himself from the punishing restraints of his society. Through the use of video and a physically charged staging, this new adaptation, by director William Lewis and writer Charlie Biscotto, suggests that his disintegration is part of an "endless cycle" of past, present and future-one from which we can only escape if we come together as a community to face the painful truths it exposes.

William Lewis (Director/Co-Writer/Production Designer) has worked as an independent film and theatre director/producer in NYC, Los Angeles and regionally over the past decade. Directing credits include, Sight Unseen (Donald Marguiles) at ArtWorks, Beautiful Bodies at the Attic Theatre, both in Los Angeles. The Dumbwaiter (Harold Pinter) and the new plays Gutter Rat and Ante Meridiem at Theatre Studio Inc. in NYC, A Doll's House (Ibsen), and All in the Timing (David Ives) at the Roxy Regional Theatre in TN and Runaways (Elizabeth Swados) at the Waterside Theatre in NC. He has trained with Siti Company and Double Edge Theatre and has been a member of the Attic Theatre Company in Los Angeles, First Look Theatre Company at NYU's Dept. of Dramatic Writing where he collaborated with David West Read, leading to the first staged reading of Read's Dream of the Burning Boy which had an extended run at Roundabout Underground last year. Will has a BFA in Performance from the University of Memphis and a MA in Theatre from CUNY-Hunter College.

Charlie Biscotto (Co-Writer) received a B.A. in Theatre Performance from American University in Washington, D.C., and is currently a candidate for an M.A. in Theatre from Hunter College in New York City. He was the founding Artistic Director of Amplified Theatre Co. in Los Angeles, where he wrote and directed #shakespeareisdead. His most recent work has also included readings of Eye of the Storm, Occupational Hazards, and Angel of the People.

Annie Harper Branson (Marie/Producer) studied acting at the University of Oregon, and later at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. Currently based in NYC, credits include everything from Sartre's Lizzie, (The Respectful Prostitute,) to Shakespeare's Viola, (Twelfth Night,) to Son's Callie, (Stop Kiss.) In recent years she has worked to bring new work to the New York community with her Brooklyn based company, importing new plays from abroad as well as working collaboratively to develop original work. Ms. Branson founded Tin Lily Productions in 2008 and has since continued to function as both performer and producer in works such as EAT, Authenticating Eileen, and Fornes' Fefu and her Friends. Further accomplishments include translating, producing and performing in the New York premiere of the Dutch play, Dossier: Ronald Akkerman. She is also an MA candidate in Theatre at Hunter College.

Tim Cusack (Woyzeck) is the Artistic Director for Theatre Askew. Credits with Askew: Bald Diva! (notable performance of the year, Theater Mania and NYTheatre.com), The Tempest, I, Claudius (also co-directed and co-adapted), i google myself, and Trav S.D.'s The Fickle Mistress in this year's Dixon Place HOT Festival. He is a Member of Alexandra Beller/Dances, performing her work in New York, Poland, and St. Petersburg, Russia. He is a 2007 NYTheatre.com Person of the Year and a 2006 Next magazine "Future Legend." BFA NYU/TSOA. MA candidate in Theatre at Hunter College, where he was the 2011-12 Vera Roberts fellow. Member Actors' Equity.

Candace Lawrence (Costume Designer) has been designing, building, and working on costumes all over the east coast. Most recently she designed Decompression, which was recognized by the NYC Fringe Festival for excellence in playwriting, The Moose that Roared at The Brick Democracy Festival, and Bunny Lake is Missing at The Brick Theatre. She is a member of TWU 764 and a proud member of The Indicators Comedy Troupe.
