The Writers' Project Presents Evening of Staged Readings, 5/11

The Writers Project presents plays by Zen Anton, Erin Carden and Amelie Lyons, Friday June 11 and Saturday June 12 at 7:30pm at Downtown Art, located at 61 E. 4th Street 7th Floor.

Three young writers - three new plays. All tied to the history of the East Village/Lower Eastside. With original music by young composers. An evening of staged readings. And evening of the unexpected. An evening of fun. Do not underestimate the young.

Three young musicians are on their way to their first real gig - at CBGB's. Question is - by the time they make it there - will there still be a band?

It's 1910. A young girl and her brother, Jewish kids living the Lower East Side, try to figure out how their love of music can help the rent get paid. And get them a little more respect.

Cassie is a Connecticut girl. Truly. Until she hears her first Ramones song. Then life begins to change in ways that feel strangely familiar.
