The Amoralists' TRIGGERED Moves To Cherry Lane, Play 1 Of Ricochet: An Amoralists Anthology

The Amoralists (James Kautz, Artistic Director) proudly present TRIGGERED, written by Amoralists 2018/2019 'WRIGHT CLUB author Gabriel Jason Dean, and directed by Kimille Howard. TRIGGERED is PLAY 1 of RICOCHET: An Amoralists Anthology about Surviving an American Epidemic.

TRIGGERED runs from August 2 - 5, 2018 in a limited engagement at the Cherry Lane Theatre, located at 38 Commerce Street between Barrow and Bedford Streets in New York City. A survivor of a mass shooting in New York City must confront her trauma, but when her awakening anti-gun activism threatens her relationship with her girlfriend, an NYPD officer, the political becomes deeply personal.

The cast includes McCaleb Burnett (The Normal Heart at The Public, A Little Journey with The Mint, Stay at Rattlestick), Annie Henk (The Rafa Play at The Flea, To The Bone at Cherry Lane, Enfrascada with Clubbed Thumb), Isabelle Pierre (Julius Caesar at The Public directed by Oskar Eustis, NBC's "Shades of Blue" & "The Blacklist: Redemption") and Alexis Scott (The Wholehearted with P73, Won't Be a Ghost at HERE, One Minute Play Festival with New Georges).

RICOCHET: An Amoralists Anthology about Surviving an American Epidemic, will feature four boundary-pushing original, intersecting plays that follow a community as it copes with the aftermath of a mass shooting. Written by The Amoralists 2018/2019 'WRIGHT CLUB playwrights, Gabriel Jason Dean, Charly Evon Simpson, and James Anthony Tyler, the season will also feature a series of original graphic novels created by Danica Novgorodoff.

Here's how 'WRIGHT CLUB works: One unifying event. Three distinct perspectives. No right answers. Over the course of the 2018/2019 season each 'WRIGHT CLUB author, working alongside The Amoralists ensemble of artists, will craft a play in their unique style that explores one side of the season's unifying incident and pushes the narrative forward. The fourth play, collaboratively written by all three club authors, caps off the year with the final installment of the story, presented in a full production in April - May 2019.

The Amoralists are a diverse collective of uncompromising artists. Founded in 2006, they produce original work that confronts the American condition in all its complexity. Their stories are emotionally charged and character driven, a place where politics and perspectives collide and no side emerges unscathed. Gabriel Jason Dean's plays include IN BLOOM, TERMINUS, QUALITIES OF STARLIGHT, HEARTLAND, The Transition of Doodle Pequeño, MARIO & THE COMET (a musical), and others. He was most recently named a Finalist for the Humanitas Emerging TV Writer Award for his original pilot, "We Belong." His plays have been produced or developed at New York Theatre Workshop, Manhattan Theatre Club, McCarter Theatre, The Flea, Oregon Shakespeare, The Kennedy Center, PlayPenn, and others. His scripts are published through Samuel French, Dramatic Publishing and Playscripts.

Kimille Howard is a director, producer, writer, filmmaker, and sound designer. As a resident director at The Flea Theater, she directed Charly Evon Simpson's The Girl With No Hands. She recently directed a reading of Nathan Yungerberg's Esai's Table at JagFest and a production of It's All About Lorrie at American Theatre of Actors and the Thespis Festival, where she won Best Director. She was the assistant director to Jessica Stone on Theresa Rebeck's Bad Dates at Huntington Theatre Company and Des McAnuff on Ain't Too Proud at Berkeley Rep. She has also assisted on multiple productions at McCarter Theatre, for Multistages Theatre Company and The French Theatrical Foundation. Kimille has also directed for NYU, The Amoralists, The Fire This Time Festival, and Serials at The Flea.
