THREE SEA STORIES To Be Presented By The BRAVAS Theatre & Film Company

The BRAVAS Theatre & Film Company present Three Sea Stories as a full production at HB Studio this spring, following their selection for the HB Studio Residency. The production will be presented at the HB Playwrights Theatre on May 16 and 17 at 7:00 PM.

Founded by Daniela Cusi and Milena Cataño, The BRAVAS is a New York-based company dedicated to bringing Peruvian and Latin American stories to the stage, building a platform for women-led storytelling across borders.

This commitment has already led to significant recognition: the company was named runner-up for the HB Studio Residency, a milestone that supported the development of this full production and their continued artistic growth in New York. They are the first Peruvian company to be recognized in this residency.

"This moment feels like a continuation of something we started with real intention," said co-founder and producer Daniela Cusi. "We're not only staging a play, we're building space for Peruvian stories to exist and grow in New York."

Co-founder and producer Milena Cataño added "This process has been incredibly affirming, we began with a reading to understand if the story would connect, and it did. Being invited to develop it further at HB Studio is both a testament to the work and a meaningful step toward internationalizing Peruvian women-led theatre."

Written by Mariana de Althaus, Three Sea Stories explores sisterhood, memory, and inherited emotional wounds within a Latinx family.

The production features performances by Daniela Cusi, Jimena Rosas, and Tatianna Danger and is directed by Julissa Román, who began as director during the staged reading and now also joins the project as producer, becoming a core part of The BRAVAS creative team. She will continue collaborating with Cusi and Cataño on future projects as part of the company's evolving artistic vision.

With this production, The BRAVAS continue establishing themselves as a Latina-led company shaping the presence of Latin American theatre in New York.
