THE PEOPLE VS ANTIGONE Comes to The Seeing Place Theater

As a part of The Seeing Place Theater's eighth season, THE PEOPLE VS ANTIGONE offers a modern take on the classic Sophocles' myth. This new adaptation by Brandon Walker explores a rebel daughter taking on the patriarchy: will she lose her life when she breaks Theban law by burying her dead brother's body against decree?

The show runs from April 22 - May 13, 2018 at the Paradise Factory, 64 E. 4th Street, NYC, Saturdays and Sundays at 2 PM, Mondays and Tuesdays at 7 PM and Thursdays at 8 PM with Sabrina Schlegel-Mejia and Gaia Visnar as the lead female roles of the sisters Antigone and Ismene, Alan Altschuler as Creon, Joshua George as Haemon, Isa Goldberg as Eurydice and Clinton Powell as the Guard.

The play is performed as a part of "The Whistleblower Series", running in daily rotating rep with two other powerful one-person shows: I AM MY OWN WIFE, written by Doug Wright and performed by Brandon Walker, and MY NAME IS Rachel Corrie, from the writings of Rachel Corrie, edited by Katharine Viner and Alan Rickman, performed by Erin Cronican.
