The Stage Managers' Association is very pleased to announce the election of new members to its board of directors.

The Association is entering its 36th year. It was founded to recognize, advocate for and provide continuing education for all stage managers of the United States, and is manager organization in the U.S. with representatives across the country.

The Association is pleased to announce the following Officers, elected to 2-year terms:
Elynmarie Kazle of Akron, Ohio - Chair
Hope Rose Kelly of Lenox, Massachusetts - 2nd Vice Chair
Adrienne Wells of Plattsburgh, New York - Corresponding Secretary.

Officers elected to 1-year terms were:
Mandy Berry of New York City - 1st Vice Chair
Joshua T. Hardwick of Seattle, Washington - Recording Secretary
Bill Hare of New York City - Treasurer

Two members-at-large were elected to 3-year terms:
Melissa A. Nathan of New York City
Jan Wolf of Cleveland, Ohio.

Three Regional Representatives were also elected to 3-year terms:
Tina Shackleford of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Eastern Region
Joe Drummond of Chicago, Illinois - Central Region
John Gruber of Las Vegas, Nevada - Western Region.

In this 36th year, longtime programs such as the SMA's job services and Operation Observation will be receiving a much needed boost in functionality due to a website conversion. This conversion will also provide the ability for interest group discussions, more enhanced profiles, a resource library, the launch of our new multi-generational mentoring program (Collaborative Connections) and much greater ease of use and functionality going forward.

The organization's signature Stage Management symposium, A View from the Wings, will hold one-day conferences in the fall in Las Vegas on October 27 (in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil) and in Manhattan on November 14 (at The Wild Project). They will also be present at:
• Theatre Bay Area in San Francisco
• USITT in St Louis
• the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Flea Market, New York City
• the Broadway Symposium, New York City
• the National Theatre Conference - NYC - to which our
Chair Elynmarie Kazle has just recently been elected.

Two partnerships with professional theatre organizations are in development as a way to engage stage managers all across the country. If you are a stage manager, THIS IS THE YEAR to join, rejoin or renew your membership in the SMA.
