Following their stirring reading of John Howard Lawson's Success Story, THE RE:GROUP THEATRE CO. proudly continues their summer reading series of "Lost" Group Theatre plays with Claire and Paul Sifton's controversial play ‘1931.' This rare and timely play will be presented one night only,

‘1931-' is the story of Adam, who is fired from his warehouse job at the start of the play. Proud and determined, Adam sets out to find another job, only to find hundreds of other men in the same situation. Without a paycheck, Adam soon realizes how much he has to lose; health, dignity, hope, and possibly even the young shop girl he loves. Alternately, it is the story of all the men, young and old in Adam's situation. These are the men who sleep in the parks, beg for coins and even turn to crime when there seems to be no other option. When their story and Adam's comes to a head at the gripping finale, there is only one way left to turn: revolution.

Allie Mulholland will direct the reading, which features the talents of George Bartenieff, Meredith Collins, Stephen Dexter, Michael Jefferson, Linda Glick, Kelsey Moore, James Nelson, Michael Oberholtzer, Dana Panepinto, Alexandar Ristov, Lindsay Teed and BranDon Walker.

THE RE:GROUP THEATRE COMPANY is a non-profit company born to present
thought-provoking and relevant theatre that has been neglected. Their motto is "Theatre Rehab." Believing that the audience should leave the theatre differently from when they entered, they will present theatrical experiences with the same vision of The Group Theatre:

"Propaganda for a better life."

Prior to the "Lost" Group plays series was a reading of Tony Vellela's new play Labor Days, directed by Austin Pendleton, and featured Marsha Mason, James Naughton, Molly Regan and Ally Sheedy.
