Rattlestick Playwrights Theater To Suspend Performances of Ren Dara Santiago's THE SIBLINGS PLAY

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater has released the following statement regarding upcoming performances:
Following the Saturday, March 14, performance, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater will suspend performances of Ren Dara Santiago's The Siblings Play until further notice. This proactive measurement has been taken in response to the recent outbreak of COVID-19 in the Tri-State area. Rattlestick values the health and wellbeing of its patrons, artists, and staff, and believes this suspension of performances is the best course of action for their community and stakeholders. Rattlestick is following the lead of city, state, and federal elected officials as well as the recommendations of the Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
Rattlestick is hopeful performances of Ren Dara Santiago's The Siblings Play will resume in April, pending availability and the status of COVID-19. Performances had recently begun on March 4 and the world premiere was scheduled to open on March 18.
Rattlestick is deeply committed to its core values, especially during difficult periods. Therefore all individuals involved with the production will continue to be paid through April 5th.
While ticket refunds are available, Rattlestick is hopeful that audiences will donate the cost of their ticket to help support its artists and staff. More information can be found at rattlestick.org.
Set inside a rent-stabilized Harlem apartment in 2014, The Siblings Play delves deep into the psyche of a teenage girl and her two brothers left to raise each other in their parents' absence. The play looks at the ways these three teenagers protect, love, fight, and diminish in the wake of their family history and the complexity of growing up with parents who are too young to be parents in the first place.
