No.11 Productions PRESENT Places AN EPISODIC SOAP OPERA FOR THE STAGE, Opens 1/9
By: BWW News Desk
Places. is a dark comedy revolving around a struggling independent theatre company and a lead actress who has developed a bad habit for accidentally killing people. To save the company from financial ruin, the director hires a 92-year-old Broadway legend (played by a life size puppet) in an attempt to bring in audiences, much to the chagrin of the anti-establishment, robot-obsessed playwright.
Join us the second Sunday of every month, beginning in January, to watch this Lynchian episodic soap opera unfold. Each month features a different downtown theatre artist or group who will perform during the "commercial" breaks. Places. is a celebration of downtown theatre - each episode features cameos from established indie theatre artists. Visit www.no11productions.com for updates on special guests, performances and to view video recaps of previous episodes. No.11 Productions is a non-profit ensemble company dedicated to creating "Theatre of the Unexpected." No.11 strives to create a wide variety of theatre that inspires audiences to become active participants in the world. Asymptotically working towards truth, we are dedicated to constantly questioning our world by presenting different perspectives - we juxtapose seeming reality with the unexpected. Past productions include: Assemblywomen (Capital Fringe/SaratogaArtsFest), Lysistrata (FringeNYC/Van Cortlandt Park/SaratogaArtsFest), Medea (FRIGID New York), The Elephant Man - The Musical (Capital Fringe/@Seaport!), Mythunderstood (SaratogaArtsFest), Claire and the Ornithological Shadow (Bushwick Starr/@Seaport!), Jet of Blood (FRIGID New York), We Three (FringeNYC/Capital Fringe) and the music video for Nat Osborn's The Changing of the Guard.
