NVA Playreading And Return Of 'OFF THE GROUND'

Please join us Friday, Nov 7th at 8 PM for another unforgettable evening: a playreading and post-show discussion with the top Latina playwright in the United States: Josefina Lopez.
Simply Maria, or the American Dream is a wildly funny play which tells the story of Maria, a young Latina aspiring to be an actress, and her dream of going to college. The story begins in Mexico with Maria's parents eloping, and follows the family through life in Los Angeles, as Maria struggles against the expectations her parents have for her and what she dreams of for herself. Simply Maria is a touching and funny exploration of growing up a Latina woman in California. Please Note: The performance is in English, with a few Spanish words and phrases.
