MHTP's NIGHTOFTHELIVINGDEAD: THE MUSICAL Begins Previews, 5/31

Musically Human Theatre Productions (MHTP) will close its inaugural season with the world premiere of Matt Conner and Stephen Gregory Smith's NightoftheLivingDead: The Musical (NOTLD), which will run May 31 to June 17 at the Richmond Shepard Theater. Previews will be tonight May 31 and June 1, prior to a gala opening on June 2.

Performances will be Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. The Richmond Shepard Theater is located at 309 East 26th Street. With music and lyrics by Conner (Nevermore, Crossing) and book and lyrics by Smith (The Boy Detective Fails),NOTLD is based on George Romero's iconic 1968 horror movie. The cast of NOTLD includes Angelo Rios (Jesus Christ Superstar national tour) as Ben, Aaron Ramey (Curtains, Oklahoma! at Arena Stage) as Harry, Ashley Rose (Nancy Kerrigan's Cold as Ice at the Laurie Beechman) as Judy, Melissa Carlile-Price (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels national tour) as Barbara, Sean MacLaughlin (Phantom of the Opera, Bombay Dreams, Lestat) as Tom, and Yvonne Campbell as Helen. The design team includes MHTP producing artistic director David Norwood(director), Kevin B. Winebold (musical director), Andrew Diaz (set design), Daniel O'Brien (lighting design),Tristan Raines (costume design), Matt Rowe (sound design), and Christopher Youstra (orchestrations).

After the show on Saturday June 2, MHPT will host a champagne reception in the lobby, which is free to anyone who has purchased an opening night ticket. Following the performance on Thursday June 7, MHTP will run a talkback with the cast and creative team. And following the performance on Friday June 15, MHTP will hold a lively cocktail party to commemorate Gay Pride Month, at which there will be a special raffle to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Admission to the Pride event is included in the price of your ticket.
