Luisa Omielan, the most famous female British comedian you've never heard of and the first British Comedian to ever receive a BAFTA Breakthrough Award for comedy will be making her highly anticipated American debut this Fall, in a limited engagement Off-Broadway run of GOD IS A WOMAN, a new comedy with all new material that will run September 12th - August 6that SoHo Playhouse, 15 Vandam Street. www.iloveluisa.com

Luisa's had 3 ground-breaking hit shows. First, she asked "What Would Beyonce Do?" (sell out across the UK and Australia, is what she would do!), then she asked "Am I Right Ladies?" and her lack of thigh gap went viral with over 45 million views. Then she turned to Politics and got a show on the BBC titled "Politics for Bitches". So the next logical step was for Luisa to bring all of that spark to religion!

At a time when it feels like the world is about to be set on fire and we're asking ourselves why it's all going so horribly wrong and what can we do to fix it? Luisa's upcoming show GOD IS A WOMAN couldn't come at a more important time. Expect Mary Magdalene and dick jokes.

Luisa has been featured in The Guardian, The Radio Times, Forbes, Vogue, The Metro, Stylist Magazine, The Huffington Post, The Telegraph and countless other publications. She's been nominated two years in a row for Best Comedy Show at the Melbourne International Festival and loves taking her universal shows around the world. But whenever she has tried to go to the states, the answer has been 'no, you're not big or famous enough for that yet, it will cost way too much money!' But since when should that stand in the way of a girl and her dream?

Everything she's achieved so far has been with a loyal audience, and no mainstream profile. The UK's glass ceiling for female comedians is firmly in place and to be honest, she doesn't want to wait a moment longer! She'll risk it all and come out to perform comedy in the USA. Encouraged by her fans, her friends have come together to build a team and help achieve this goal. This is a home-grown machine, a grassroots operation at its finest - all crowd-funded by her amazing fans. From donated photo shoots to couches to sleep on...this is the American dream!

She'll also be bringing her 2 year old sidekick Bernie, the Bernese Mountain Dog to the glorious American stage. The trip will be documented with daily vlogs and the intention is to turn it into a full-length documentary. Her mentor Richard Curtis is going to be in New York at the same time, as will her friend Dawn French, so you can expect a few familiar faces!

Performances of GOD IS A WOMAN are onThursdays, Friday, Saturday and Sundays at 9PM.

Tickets are $39 and available online at https://www.sohoplayhouse.com/soho-playhouse-events/luisa-omielan-more-than-a-thigh-gap
