Kayros Theater Group presents c*ckby Mike Bartlett, directed by Eduardo Navas, running November 3 - 12, 2017, in Spanish with English translation.

A COCKmedy to good to be true...

John has been in a stable relationship with his boyfriend for more than five years. He takes a break from it and accidentally falls in love with a woman. Filled with guilt and indecision he's torn between the two, and doesn't know which way to turn. His boyfriend is willing to wait for him to make a decision, but so is his girlfriend. And both are prepared to fight to keep him. A dinner with both "fighters" is arranged, and everyone wants to know, What will John's decision be? A comic discussion of identity, sexuality, love and human nature.

COCK by Mike Bartlett is a well-crafted dialogue based comedy that will be performed in Spanish with English translation in the NY's Latino theater community for the first time. Its producer Julio Ortega told us that "It's been a lot of work, but it's worth it. I've been trying for seven years to produce it with Kayros Theater Group and finally here we are, we were fortunate enough to have such a great cast and director."

The cast is formed by Julio Ortega, Miguel Belmonte, Edna Lee Figueroa, Juan Villarreal, Francisco Cardozo and Juan Manuel Sanabria, some of the actors will perform in selected performances and not necessarily the same ones, the audience will have the opportunity to see different versions in one same play if they go to see it more than once.

The play contains sex/nudity scenes not suitable for minors under 13 yrs. old. c*ckis specified to be performed with no props or set, so the focus is all on the drama of the situation and its director Eduardo Navas is taking that very seriously, dissecting every line with the actors at rehearsals, making sure that the play's humor gets enriched even more with what each performer brings to their roles. The director adds, "This is not a play about sex and sexual identity only, it's also about love in different ways, about relationships and choices."

COCK by Mike Bartlett will bring its witty sarcastic British humor to New York City with Latino flavor to Producers Club at 358 West 44th Street, NYC (8th & 9th Av.) in November 3-12, 2017. Make sure to not miss it because, as we've been warned, it is "a COCKmedy to good to be true."
