Jake Kevrick to Bring TWO CONCEIVE to Winterfest Theatre Festival This Weekend

Jake Kevrick, a 23-year Playwright and Literary and Office Manager intern for That Uppity Theatre Company, a St. Louis/New York based theatre company, is one of the first shows to open the Winterfest Theatre Festival (formerly the Venus Adonis Theater Festival) beginning January 5th and running for three performances until January 8th at the Hudson Guild Theatre on New York's Westside.

This is Jake's third production in New York. Other shows of his include Forgetting Dick and Jane (Thespis Theatre Festival) and Honeysuckle Epidemic (EAT New Works Lab). His St. Louis credits include Ribbon Candy and Freedom, Revolt, and Love (Envisage Play Festival).

"Two Conceive," directed by James Kolditz, is a play about the battle between our age-old attachment to God and the growing advancement of technology. With the decision of a lifetime looming, desires unwinding and a secret experiment that dares to come to completion, Callum (played by Denny Desmarais) and Scotland (played by Ari Axelrod) must put their differences aside to partake in the most consequential medical breakthrough of our time. Autumn Mirassou plays Dr. Burke, and Cassia Thompson plays Dr. Aimes.

Jake currently attends Webster University in St. Louis with a BA in Playwriting and World Drama. He is a teacher for the GED program at St. Louis Community College.
