Beaches 2 is a sketch comedy group, and they have a monthly comedy show! This month, they are going to talk about pageants, pageants, pageants. Featuring performance art's transgender darling and the reigning Mr. Coney Island, Glenn Marla! The comedy show, presented by Horse Trade Theater Group and Beaches 2, will play at Under St Marks Theater (94 St. Marks Place between 1st and A) Thursday, March 10th @ 10:30pm. Every second Thursday of the month, Beaches 2 will bring you a brand new hour-long sketch comedy show! Each month they choose a theme and write thousands of jokes on that topic. Glenn Marla (performer/writer) is a Brooklyn-based performance artist, tranny superstar and beauty pageant queen (Miss LES 2006 and the reigning Mr. Coney Island). Glenn was last seen in Taylor Mac's The Lily's Revenge. Glenn was also featured in Justin Bond's in Lustre: A Mid Winters Trans Fest at P.S. 122 and Abrons Arts Center. Glenn's 2008 year-long performance project New York City's Hottest Fat Go-Go Boy explored fat, gender and sex, as he danced all over the city becoming a fixture in New York City nightlife. He was nominated for two 2008 Glammy Awards. "Performance art that pushes the envelope without pushing the audience away," - The Portland PhoenixDrae Campbell is the reigning Miss LEZ. She has appeared on many stages and screens the world over, including Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Drae created and developed NERVE for the American Living Room Fest at HERE. Recently Drae received a space grant from the Brooklyn Arts Exchange (BAX) to develop and create a theater piece showcasing talent of women who are over the age of 60. She wrote and starred in the short film YOU MOVE ME with Rebecca Drysdale, which won the Audience Award for Outstanding Narrative Short at OUTFEST, 2010, The Short Film Jury Award and Audience Award at the Austin International Gay and Lesbian Film Fest.
