You've seen The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. You've seen Real Time with Bill Maher. But we know that you're just like the host of this show: You're an average schnook. You don't know all the facts, all the names, or all the answers and neither does Peter DeGiglio, host of The Skinny.

As the American psyche begins to swing back toward a thirst for truth, knowledge and active involvement in our social processes, we average schnooks need an entertainment vehicle to harness the hunger. That vehicle is The Skinny with Peter DeGiglio and your host is a witty, contemplative everyman who struggles to wrap his head around the events that shape our city, our nation and our world.

The Skinny combines topical comedy and timely, cutting edge and often wacky variety acts with thought provoking conversations featuring high-profile journalists, reporters, literary and political figures, and pop/cult icons. Not only will you see Peter sit down and discuss everything from murder trials and sex scandals to economic crises and political bickering with folks in the know, but the night is also filled with special music and comedy acts guaranteed to satisfy your hunger to be entertained! (…Unless you've got some kind of an entertainment tapeworm, then I'm afraid we can't help you.) You'll hear protest songs, political stand-up and even see local performers portray our nation's leaders and celebs.

And just when you thought it was enough to see an exclusive live interview with a journalist, an author or a blogger, double over with laughter at the wit of a satirical sketch and enjoy the voice of a singer with something to say, we've added another little fresh, cutting-edge element to the mix: Joining Peter and his guests on stage is his chic and sassy co-host, D.J. April White. White not only provides a hip musical and auditory adornment to the evening, but serves as the perfect cheeky foil to Peter's innocent nice guy persona.

Join the show every second Wednesday of the month at 8 p.m. at The Red Room – 85 E. 4th Street NYC. For details visit http://horsetrade.info/.

NEXT SHOW WEDNESDAY, July 11th
