Galli Theater Presents THE FROG PRINCE Thru 9/26

By:

Galli's Frog Prince will enchant kids this weekend at 3 p.m. in Galli's midtown theater at 38 W. 38 Street, between 5 and 6 Avenues, Manhattan. The play will be followed by a one-hour after-show workshop for kids.

Galli's Frog Prince is an uplifting remake of the original Grimm story. The frog engages its audience in fun interaction until he finally changes into a prince to everyone's delight. "This play, while quite humorous, leaves audiences spellbound by the life lessons it reveals. Galli's Frog Prince gives some new perspectives on the classic tale and encourages children to stand up for themselves, overcome self-doubts, and be courageous," said Dr. Tatjana Maya, Director of Galli Theater.

At the end of each show the theater group invites kids to join the after-show workshop, where they can act out their favorite fairy tale characters, and dress up in costumes. The workshop is followed by a mini performance for the adults.

"Galli's Fairytale Theater is one of our city's greatest resources for young children and their families," said Virginia Connor, head of St. Hilda's & St. Hugh's independent episcopal day school.

Playwright, clown, and director Johannes Galli has been bringing fairy tales to kids for almost 25 years. Believing that fairy tales are healing for children, he uses the original story but changes the "grim" version into a humorous play that entertains kids and adults alike and has a fun and educating message in the end.
