FDNY Member Evan Davis Stars in THE GUYS at The Producer's Club, Now thru 8/26

Jordana De La Cruz will direct The Guys, Anne Nelson's moving post-9/11 play that has been performed in 48 states since it premiered at the Flea Theater in December 2001, just months after the tragedy.

This production of The Guys will star current FDNY member Evan Davis, who was awarded the David J. DeFranco Medal in 2012 for a water-related rescue, and Kristen Schwarz, who is the Drama Director at Stephen A. Halsey JHS 157 in Queens.

The Guys follows the relationship between Joan, an editor, and Nick, an FDNY captain, as she helps him write the eulogies for many firefighters who died while under his command on 9/11. The play is a true story of a fire captain and a writer crossing paths in a time of tragedy.

The performance schedule of The Guys is tonight, August 21st through 26th, Tuesday through Friday at 8:00 pm and Saturday at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm at The Producer's Club (358 West 44th Street, between 8th and 9th Ave.; Subway: A/C/E or 1/2/3 or N/R/Q to 42nd St.). EVAN DAVIS (Nick) is a current member of the FDNY. He was awarded the 2012 David J. DeFranco Medal for acts of bravery. Davis began his acting career as a child. He earned a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in theater, and then landed a fellowship at New York University where he received his master's degree in educational theatre. He has had roles on "One Live to Live" as well as the films Ikenhitsu and Decent. For more information, visit www.evandavisactor.com.

KRISTEN SCHWARZ (Joan) has performed in various off-Broadway productions such as Maud/Lin in Cloud Nine, Liz in Loose Knit, Cynthia in Girl's Guide to Chaos and the Wife in The Problem as well as several independent films. She studied acting at the William Esper Studio and the Actor's Movement Studio, as well as a graduate from the University of Dublin, Trinity College Master's Degree program in Theater Studies and Literary Criticism. Currently, Kristen is the Drama Director at Stephen A. Halsey, JHS 157, where she oversees the Drama Department and where she has directed plays such as Music Man and Bugsy Malone as well as creating a musical adaptation of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream...A Rock Opera.
