The Brick Theater in association with the Dysfunctional Theatre Company presents FINAL DEFENDERS as part of the Game Play Festival, a festival of video game theater. The festival will run July 5 - 28 at The Brick. FINAL DEFENDERS plays: Sat July 6, 9pm; Thurs July 11, 8pm; Thurs July 18, 7pm; Sat July 20, 4pm; and Fri July 26, 9pm.

The Konami Atari Alliance of Eden 3 is under attack by evil Queen Bowsera. Their only hope lies with a ragtag band of earthlings, each plucked out of their own time, each chosen for their unique gaming skills. They all had big dreams, but they never dreamed they'd become the Final Defenders.The Last Starfighter meets Galaxy Quest in an outerspace adventure that's fun for all ages.

Written by Patrick Storck, directed by Nicole Lee Aiossa and Justin Plowman with lighting design by Amanda Woodward and sound and video design by Justin Plowman & Patrick Storck.

Final Defenders will run Sat July 6, 9pm, Thurs July 11, 8pm, Thurs July 18, 7pm, Sat July 20, 4pm and Fri July 26, 9pm as part of Game Play at The Brick (575 Metropolitan Avenue between Union Avenue and Lorimer Street, Brooklyn). Patrick Storck (writer) is a writer and filmmaker from Baltimore, MD. He has written the feature film Corpus Kristi, co-written on The Chainsaw Sally Show, and has been a featured columnist for Scars Magazine, Matchflick.com, and Kevin Smith's ASiteCalledFred.com. Branching away from horror, he has also written Muppets Sherlock Holmes, as well as co-authored Muppets King Arthur, Muppets Snow White, Uncle Scrooge Adventures, and Donald Duck Adventures. This is his third production with Dysfunctional Theatre.

Nicole Lee Aiossa (Co-Director/Choreographer) is a classically trained singer from New York. She has directed and choreographed pieces and shows with companies such as Dysfunctional Theare, The Martina Arroyo Project, Bronx Opera, Chelsea Opera, Empire Opera, The Yard Arts Festival, and Wendy Taucher Dance Opera Theater. Along with directing, Nicole is also an accomplished singer, actor, theater teacher, and sometimes costume designer.

Justin Plowman (Co-Director) Justin was the director of the original hit horror comedy Brew of the Dead and its sequel, Brew of the Dead II: Oktoberflesh. Other directing credits include Robosaurus and Fancy Eating You Here for A Cavalcade of Curiosities and Porcelain & Pink for A Voluminous Evening of Brevity. Justin is Dysfunctional Theatre's Director of Development as well as an actor and sound & video designer for the company.

DYSFUNCTIONAL THEATRE COMPANY is a collective dedicated to producing ensemble works that challenge the status quo without taking themselves too seriously. Its mission is to show audiences the joys of live theater, to give exposure to new playwrights and rediscover forgotten scripts of previous centuries and to provide a supportive environment for artists to grow and expand their work.
