Dialogue with Three Chords Presents New Plays THE TWO SWORDS DOCTRINE and THE MONSTER WITH 21 FACES Tonight

By:

Dialogue with Three Chords (D3C) continues their fourth year of staging original plays in Greenwich Village with two new plays from their archives of unproduced plays written for earlier seasons. "These are the plays that didn't fit," explains playwright Stephen Gracia, This month's offerings are: "The Two Swords Doctrine" and "The Monster with 21 Faces," both written by Gracia and directed by Michael LoPorto. The show is tonight, September 25 at 8pm at Mr. Dennehy's on 63 Carmine Street. Admission is free, with a $3 suggested donation.

"The Two Swords Doctrine" finds two catholic priests passing a flask between confession booths and deconstructing the church's position on sexual criminals within the clergy. "The Monster with 21 Faces" is a two-character play loosely based on a true story of candy men, kidnapping, a monstrous letter writing campaign, and a disgraced detective.

"Both plays deal with faith, disillusionment, and the way monsters are made through small compromises and outrageous pranks," explains Gracia. The playwright went on to say: "D3C season four is full of b-sides, outtakes, and happy accidents."
