Multi-award-winning instrumentalist/vocalist/entertainer Cynthia Sayer (including a 2019 Bistro Award!) is acclaimed by musicians, critics, and fans alike as the top 4-string banjoist in the world today. Praised for her "drive and virtuosity" by the New York Times, Cynthia enchants audiences with her electrifying performances and captivating shows wherever she appears.

After spending the last decade fronting her band on tour over 4 continents, Cynthia especially looks forward to this intimate evening in her own home town. And as this date happily coincides with International Women's Day, she's delighted to feature monster violinist Sara Caswell in her trio, along with top bassist Mike Weatherly. The last time this trio shared the stage together was at the 2018 Newport Jazz Festival, where they brought down the house while Cynthia made history as the first 4 string banjoist to be a featured artist at this iconic festival.

Cynthia first rose to international prominence as a founding member of Woody Allen's New Orleans Jazz Band, all the while exploring her wider musical interests and playing with such legendary jazz, popular, and roots music artists as Bucky Pizzarelli, Dick Hyman, Andy Statman, Les Paul, Marvin Hamlisch, Wynton Marsalis, and John McEuen (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) ), as well as with leading contemporaries such as Vince Giordano, Wycliffe Gordon, Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox, Charlie Giordano (with Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band), and many others. Among her numerous honors, Sayer is in the American Banjo Hall Of Fame, is the recipient of a 2019 Bistro Award, and is a Triple Silver Medal winner of the 2018 Global Music Awards.
