The Babel Theatre Project will present the world premiere of You May Go Now, a new play by 2006 Innovative Theatre Award-Winning playwright Bekah Brunstetter (To Nineveh), directed by Geordie Broadwater. Performances begin September 6, opening Sunday, September 9th running through September 29th at the 45th Street Theatre.

"Dottie has trained Betty to be the perfect 1950s housewife; to cook the perfect pot roast, to bake a gorgeous seven-layer cake, to remove any stain. And tonight, Betty's 18th birthday, it is time for Betty to go out into the world. Only Dottie has failed to mention that the year is 2007, that the world is a vast and complex place, and that there is reason she cannot abide being called "Mother." Ghosts from the past haunt the women and shatter their idyllic, if odd, existence. When a mysterious traveler is stranded at their home, he brings a revelation that forces Betty to choose between the love of her "mother" and her freedom and sanity," state press materials.

The cast includes: Justin Blanchard ("Law & Order: SVU", Journey's End, Hamlet), Ginger Eckert (The Dime Show: A Vaudeville, The Whore of Sheridan Square), Melinda Helfrich (Three Sisters, Cherry Orchard, Richard II), and Ben Vershbow (The Insomnia Play, Hell House, Guttenberg! The Musical!).  The creative team includes: Tristan Jeffers (Set Design), Jason Bishop (Costume Design), Anthony Gabriele (Sound Design), and Kathryn Ann Pierroz (Props Design).

At Upstairs at the 45th Street Theatre is at 354 West 45th Street, NYC.  Tickets are $18 and they are available at www.theatermania.com or 212-352-3101. For more information, visit www.babeltheatreproject.org.
