THE NAKED WOMAN From PM Theater Will Make World Premiere at Theatre 154
Ilia Volok and MaryKate Glenn star in Allie Avital & Alia Azamat Ashkenazi's darkly comic drama about a Soviet immigrant family
PM Theater will present the world premiere of The Naked Woman by Allie Avital & Alia Azamat Ashkenazi, directed by Allie Avital, at Theatre 154 (154 Christopher Street New York, NY 10014). Running from June 3 - June 14.
The Naked Woman is a gripping, darkly comic drama about love, morality, and blind devotion. It unfolds over a winter holiday in an Upstate New York country house, where a family of Soviet immigrants gathers to celebrate Misha (Ilia Volok), a man who has built a life on achievement, intelligence, and survival, until a single moment shatters the illusion... As the incident seeps into the house, the lively family gathering turns into a Chekhovian moral reckoning.
At the center is 35 year old Dasha (MaryKate Glenn), Mishaʼs sensitive but ruthless daughter. Dasha is pregnant and caught in a love triangle between a family friend and the father of her child. As secrets surface, Dasha finds herself torn between her loyalty to her family and the terrifying possibility of truly growing up.
PM Theater is a New York based Non-Profit Theater company, which was formed as a result of a common need by a group of professionally trained, international actors to tell meaningful stories. The cast includes Ilia Volok (The New American Ensemble's Ivanov), MaryKate Glenn (Krymov Lab's Uncle Vanya), Natasha Goubskaya, Max Samuels, Dima Koan, Oleg Blinov, Maria Atlas, and Tatyana Kot.
The creative team for The Naked Woman includes Pili Weeber (set design), Kostya Goncharuk (costume design), Marcus Foster (composer & sound design), Obid Abdurakhmanov (lighting design), and Katya Chernetsova (casting).
