Rumor has it that Stephen Sondheim and John Doyle will be teaming up again this fall to bring BOUNCE, the Sondheim and John Weidman musical, to the Public Theater in October.

A casting notice states that performances will begin Oct. 28 and continue through Nov. 30, with a possible extension through Dec. 28.

The Public Theater has not confirmed the production yet.

Bernadette Peters was involved in a 2006 reading of BOUNCE at the Public, and has on occasion performed some of the musicals songs, which has led some to speculate that Peters will be joining this production marking her first New York production since 2003.

Doyle has previously worked on two Sondheim's musicals, Sweeney Todd and Company, the first brought Doyle a Tony and the latter earned the 2007 Tony for Best Revival.

Spanning 40 years, Bounce follows the personal and professional adventures of brothers Addison and Wilson Mizner. An exploration of the boldness and darker shadows of the American spirit, the musical is also a personal story of those who are willing to risk it all to grab a piece of the American dream.
