'The Receptionist' Answers Call, MTC Previews Begin Tonight

Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere production of Adam Bock's The Receptionist will begin performances tomorrow, Friday, October 12 at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).  The production will officially open Tuesday, October 30.

Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (Blackbird, Take Me Out), the cast features: Josh Charles ("Sports Night"), Robert Foxworth (Twelve Angry Men), Jayne Houdyshell (Well), and Kendra Kassebaum (Wicked).

"At the start of a typical day in the Northeast Office, Beverly deals effortlessly with ringing phones and her colleague's romantic troubles.  But the appearance of a charming rep from the Central Office disrupts the friendly routine.  And as the true nature of the company's business becomes apparent, The Receptionist raises disquieting, provocative questions about the consequences of complicity with evil," explain press notes.

The creative team for The Receptionist includes: David Korins (scenic design), Jane Greenwood (costume design), Brian MacDevitt (lighting design), Darron L West (sound design).

Performance Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday at 8PM; Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2PM; Sunday at 7PM.
