Purgatory, Telos Ensemble's bi-monthly developmental reading series, will returnto Manhattan, New York City this Friday, 7:30pm, 30th April at Pluto's Loft in Tribeca.

The sixth edition of Purgatory, with previous events held in New York City & London, will feature the first public reading of Dan Blick's latest play: Ellipsis. Blick's previous works include the plays 'Telos', 'Lake George', 'Akrasia', and his directorial feature film debut 'Black Lake', an adaptation of his original stageplay 'Lake George', which is currently undergoing submissions to international film festivals. His plays have featured Off-Broadway in New York City, as well as in Stockholm and in London.

This reading of 'Ellipsis' will feature Galen Hopper as Mia, Cameron Andre as Harry, Gil Cole as David, Emmy Makela as Sarah and Mitchell Pope as Bill.

'Ellipsis' is a psychological drama centred around the explorations of a young female painter in New York City: Mia. When Mia meets Harry, she's certain that she's stumbled upon the romantic partner of her dreams. He's funny, attractive and charming; almost too good to be true. The young couple are interrupted in their Sunday folly by Mia's father, David, who arrives for his weekly visit for afternoon tea. Upon David's clear disapproval of Harry, Mia becomes enraged and questions her relationship with her father. David, unable to deter Mia from pursuing Harry, sends her sister, Sarah, in an attempt to dissuade her. 'Ellipsis' is a contemporary exploration of familial relations, mental illness and autonomy.

The reading will be held at Pluto's Loft in Tribeca and will be followed by drinks and conversation. Reading run time will be one hour with no intermission.

Telos Ensemble is a production company co-founded by Mitchell Pope & Dan Blick, with offices in New York and London. They focus on incubating original works from the stage to the screen.
