Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that its production of the world premiere of Jesse Eisenberg's The Revisionist, starring Eisenberg and Vanessa Redgrave, and directed by Kip Fagan, will play an added performance on Wednesday, April 17 at 2pm at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street.

The Revisionist opened February 28 to strong notices, has been playing to sell-out audiences since it began previews on February 15, and has been extended twice. The added performance was scheduled because of a cancelled performance on Saturday, April 13.

In The Revisionist David (Eisenberg) arrives in Poland with a crippling case of writer's block and a desire to be left alone. His 75-year-old second cousin Maria (Redgrave) welcomes him with a fervent need to connect with her distant American family. As their tenuous relationship develops, she reveals details about her complicated post-war past that tests their ideas of what it means to be a family.

The cast of The Revisionist is Jesse Eisenberg, Vanessa Redgrave, and Daniel Oreskes (whose performance Brantley called "excellent").

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater is a multi-award-winning company which has produced over sixty world premieres in the past seventeen seasons and was the recipient of the 2007 Ross Wetzsteon Memorial OBIE Award for developing new and innovative work.
