Photos: UNCLE VANYA Opens at Pearl Theatre Company

The Pearl Theatre Company presents Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, running through October 12. BroadwayWorld brings you photos from opening night below!

Chekhov's slyly comic and quietly powerful classic invites us into a world of agony, ecstasy, and absurdity. When the arrival of a worldly professor and his bewitching wife shatters the peace of Vanya and Sonya's country estate, a series of flirtations, disappointments, confessions, and revelations follow as this motley crew demand their moment in the sun-but never seem to know what to do when they get it.

The Pearl Theatre Company seeks to connect audiences to great plays. Dedicated to bringing the classics of world theatre to a growing audience, The Pearl plays a vital role in the cultural life of New York City and its surrounding region by creating productions that explore and illuminate the human condition. The Pearl is an artistic home for a diverse company of theatre professionals, especially a core company of resident actors. For additional information, visit: http://www.pearltheatre.org
