The New York City premiere of Jamie M. Fox's MazelTov Cocktail will be presented for a limited four-week engagement at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre January 26 through February 20 with opening night set for Wednesday, February 3 at 8pm. Maria Mileaf (A Body of Water and Lobster Alice) will direct the 90-minute dark comedy that is penned and performed by Fox and produced by Marilyn Ziering.

Serving up laughs with the absurdities we tell ourselves to get through the hard times, MazelTov Cocktail follows a Jewish woman as she juggles her job as a personal assistant, her cocaine addicted (and recently jailed) brother and the neurotic parents who spawned them. A veteran of the Comedy Central Stage and Second City, Jamie M. Fox stars in this solo dark comedy.

Developed at Comedy Central Stage, MazelTov Cocktail made its west coast premiere at the Coast Playhouse to sold out houses and rave reviews. Backstage proclaimed it "A Trip!" and the Jewish Journal roared "a whole new side of Jewish Living: the hysterically unusual side!" LA Weekly deemed Fox "an engaging personality." Demand has grown as it has toured across the country with sold out houses and now this "hilarious and thoughtful!" (Seattle Channel) "universal story" (Jewish.com) makes its New York debut.

The design team includes scenic designer Sandra Goldmark, costume designer Laurie Churba, lighting designer David Lander and sound designer Nick Borisjuk.

Jamie M. Fox (Playwright/Performer) Fox’s acting and writing work have taken her across the United States and Europe. She is a regular performer at the Second City, Improv Olympic and the Comedy Central Stage. She can be seen in the film Employee of the Month, written and directed by Mitch Rouse (co-creator of “Strangers with Candy”), which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival, Page Turner, (Premiering at the 2009 LA Film Festival), Out of Focus, Virgin Wanted, which premiered at the Seattle Independent Film Festival (winner best comedy) and Memory Thief, starring Mark Webber. She was Calpurnia in Julius Caesar (The Lillian Theater), Anna in Burn This (The Lost Studio) and Violet in Poor Super Man (The Varsity). Jamie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater. She continued her education in London with Theatre de Complicite.
