9-Year-Old Dancer, Grace Roche, To Make Off-Broadway Debut In THE SIGNATURE PROJECT This Sunday

Off-Broadway's newest hit, THE SIGNATURE PROJECT, opened March 11th at the Sheen Center to unanimous rave reviews. The producers of the multi-sensory theatrical experience recently announced that different Irish dancers are scheduled to make a special guest appearance at each performance in a segment choreographed by Elise Wright of the Aherne Sheehan School of Irish Dance. The youngest of these performers, 9-year-old Grace Roche, is set to make her Off-Broadway debut at this Sunday's 3 pm matinee.

The core of THE SIGNATURE PROJECT is a huge 76 ft. x 36 ft. mural layered with hidden secrets. For the past 22 years a live performance has toured the United States bringing the mural to life, with artist Patrick Dunning ingeniously weaving stories and images in the great tradition of Irish artists. Now, this play with music and dance comes to New York for its Off-Broadway premiere. An uplifting, interactive, thought-provoking journey through art, science, technology, and cultural diversity, THE SIGNATURE PROJECT offers the opportunity for the audience to join over 300,000 people whose signatures already comprise the fabric of this monumental art work. The painting and the play are constantly changing and evolving as people contribute their own signature and story to the larger art work, adding perspectives and ideas which make the world so special and wonderful, beyond imagination. Creator Patrick Dunning hails from Dublin, Ireland and now lives in Portland, Oregon.

Director Eric Paul Vitale joined the project after attending a one-night-only presentation of Patrick Dunning's THE SIGNATURE PROJECT on tour one year ago. It was immediately after that event that the two began a collaboration to re-conceive the production as an entirely theatrical evening with the addition of 360-degree projections, live jazz, Irish dancers, and choreography by two-time National Ballroom Champion, Melissa Maricich.

Performances of THE SIGNATURE PROJECT are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 3 pm through March 25th at the Sheen Center (18 Bleecker Street). Tickets are available through www.sheencenter.org or by calling OvationTix at 866-811-4111. Same day $20 student tickets are available in person at the Sheen Center box office.
